In 1998, Gainesway became an Institutional member of the American Public Garden Association and the first nationally accredited horse farm to be given arboretum status in the world. To this day, Gainesway is one of the most bio-diverse horse farms world wide.

About the Author:
Ryan Martin was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He pursued his interest in horticulutre from a young age when his mother owned a greenhouse company. Ryan enjoys many outdoor activities such as hiking and backpacking, and broadening his awareness of plants.
Before coming to Gainesway, Ryan had extensive experience working with botanical gardens, arboretums, and conducting field research. He has lived and worked on Gainesway Farm for fifteen years as the Director of Horticulture. He has a wife and a young son.
