of the international Thoroughbred weekly, The Blood-Horse; The Horse, a monthly
magazine dedicated to equine health care; and TBH MarketWatch, a twice-monthly newsletter
for Thoroughbred investors.
The Blood-Horse magazine traces its roots to 1916 as a monthly bulletin published
by the Thoroughbred Horse Association. Since 1961, Blood-Horse Publications has been
owned by the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association, a non-profit organization
that promotes Thoroughbred racing and breeding. Today, The Blood-Horse
is enjoyed by subscribers in over 80 countries.
The Horse: Your Guide to Equine Health Care began as Modern Horse Breeding, which was purchased
by The Blood-Horse, Inc. in 1993. In 1994, the magazine was transformed into The
Horse, and quickly gained the reputation as the premier equine health care magazine
in the world.
With booming Thoroughbred sales in the mid-90s, Blood-Horse Publications launched
the newsletter TBH MarketWatch as a vehicle to provide buyers and sellers of Thoroughbreds
with detailed statistical information on auctions and breeding.

Over the years Blood-Horse Publications has published many books, references, videos
and other products. The Horse Health Care Library started in 1997 with the publication
of Understanding EPM. Exclusively Equine, in its printed form, began in 1997 and
won a Benjamin Franklin Award from the Publishers Marketing Association for best
mail order catalog in 1998 & 2002. ExclusivelyEquine.com made its debut in October,
1998.
